"Love in the backyard" (“Kærlighed i baggården”) is a reprint in 12 colors, after the original lithograph, made by Folmer Bendtsen (1907-1993). The motif is from Vesterbro back around the 1930s and 1940s.
Folmer Bendtsen was a Danish painter who became known as the painter of the working class. In his paintings, he illutrated the life of the workers in Nørrebro, Sydhavnen and especially in the Northwest Quarter, where he was living. His works can be seen in a number of Danish museums, e.g. Statens Museum for Kunst, ARoS and Nordjylland’s Art Museum. He is also the father of Kristine Bendtsen, who is behind Bendtsens Galerie at Danas Plads 10.
The reprinted lithograph, is print signed, and made on watercolor paper 310 g. It is framed with a hand painted blue frame and a light rosy background.
